“Baby When I Close My Eyes” – Sweet Spirit

It is no surprise that the best music video of 2016 so far, belongs to the local garage melody makers, Sweet Spirit, and their perfectly paired video director, John Valley. Puppets haven’t been used this dramatically and morbidly in a music video since Interpol’s 2004 “Evil” music video. Not a band to shy away from the darkness, Sweet Spirit fortifies their already memorable new hit with John Valley’s macabre depiction of utter brutality on felt puppets. The jarring scenes are all intriguingly diabolical in nature, and they may just stick with you longer than the catchy single; which is definitely saying something.
